Description
In 1953 the Dorsey brothers joined up again and led The Dorsey Brothers Orchestra.
After Tommy Dorsey died on 26th November 1956 (he choked in his sleep shortly after he started taking sleeping pills) just a week after his 51st birthday Jimmy led the band though he had just been diagnosed with throat cancer, he died on 12th June 1957 aged only 53.
With Jane Dorsey, Tommy's widow's blessing trombonst Warren Covington took over as leader the band was billled as The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra starring Warren Covington.
In 1958 they had a top ten hit with 'Tea For Two Cha Cha' #7 in the US and #3 in the UK.
